Seasonal Support Programs

Through our seasonal programs, Community Storehouse provides children and families with extra support during times of the year when the need is greatest. From helping fill pantry shelves during summer hunger, to providing Christmas gifts through Christmas House, to offering clothing, hygiene items, and everyday essentials through our Dignity Closet, these programs help families feel supported, cared for, and equipped with the resources they need.

BRIDGING THE SUMMER HUNGER GAP

When school lets out for the summer, thousands of children in our community lose access to up to 10 reliable, free school lunches every week. This sudden loss leaves vulnerable families to absorb the heavy financial burden of providing extra meals at home, right when grocery prices are already strained. To bridge this gap, we are pushing our resources to the limit to load our summer distributions with as much extra supplemental food and kid-friendly snacks as possible. We are committed to making sure no child faces an empty cupboard during the long summer months—but we need your support to keep our shelves stocked and make sure no child goes hungry.

DIGNITY CLOSET FOR KIDS

The Community Storehouse Dignity Closet provides seasonal clothing support to children and teens through age 18 in a respectful and caring way. Each child receives a package of 10 clothing items, along with new socks and underwear, to help ensure they have the essentials they need throughout the year.

This program helps relieve financial pressure for families while giving children the comfort, confidence, and dignity that come from having clean, seasonally appropriate clothing.
