WE NEED YOUR HELP! WE ARE IN NEED OF PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY. We are in need of items to help feed the children we serve.
Hunger prevention is vital to proper growth and development of children. Food insecurity affects 20% of the children in Keller ISD and 25% in Northwest ISD.
Families can receive grocery orders and be informed of additional local resources throughout the year. Supplemental food is made available for qualifying families when their children are out of school during summer and holiday breaks.
Case managers determine how often each family needs food, but families may receive an emergency box of food as their cases are processed. Upon completing the process; families receive generous grocery orders created to meet their dietary requirements. No one requesting food is turned away.
Our pantry is stocked by food donations from individuals, churches, schools, businesses, corporations, civic groups and grants.
Help Feed Children on the Weekend
20% to 25% of the children living in Keller and Northwest ISD are living below the poverty line. Many of these children, who rely on the schools to provide them with meals during the week, show up to class Monday morning hungry. The Community Storehouse has partnered with some of the local schools to send home “snack packs” filled with child-friendly, healthy snacks on Fridays in an effort to prevent this from occurring. Please support us in this effort by donating the following:
- granola bars
- cereal bars
- cheese crackers
- peanut butter crackers
- fruit snacks
- trail mix
- dried fruit
- beef jerky
- Pop Tarts
- fruit cups
- pudding cups
- any other non-perishable, child-friendly snack
